The time is drawing near to begin the marching season. Rookie camp is right around the corner and we will have our largest number of new people in our history. Plus I think the changes to our show will be very exciting so start gearing up. While you are relaxing in these last days, double check to make sure all your information is correct in CHARMS. It will soon be the main mode of communication.
You may now pay band fees online. Log in your charms account and click on the finances tab. We are not at this time accepting payment for polos or shoes but will figure out a way for coming years. Paying from this site will update your account infomation automatically so you should be able to see if your payment went through. Remember, if you are not able to pay the fee at this time, you need to contact the band director, kvrieze@greenville.k12.sc.us, ASAP to make other arrangements.
PACKETS ARE MAILED!
For most of the students, packets have been mailed. If you do not receive your packet by the June 16, please email me and let me know. All forms and fees are due ASAP and, as always, if you are having trouble with your fees, do not hesitate to contact me with arrangements. NO ONE IS TURNED AWAY DUE TO LACK OF FUNDS.
You may be thinking the year is just over, but here in the band program, our year is just beginning!

July 22-23 9am-1pm New Members, Color Guard, Percussion, and Officers
July 26-30 9am-6pm All Band Members
Aug 2-6 9am-6pm All Band Members
Two additional rehearsals
August 10, 12 1pm-6pm All Band Members
Rehearsals during the school year occur on Monday and Thursday from 4-6pm
Anyone who wants to work on next year's props. I need willing hands to work on prototypes NOW!!!

Parents,
The band program has signed up for a page at DonorsChoose.org, a website
designed to match donors up with worthy causes. Of course I think we are the
worthiest cause so I have put a link to our first item below. Knowing how much
you give to our program every year, I am not asking for you to donate but
instead, send out this link to other people you know. Many of you have
relatives and friends who have wanted to be able to help but not sure how,
especially ones who live far away. Here is their chance! And the beauty is
that it can be any amount. Everyone's money is pooled together for a single
cause. Confused? Check out the site!
In addition, DonorsChoose is matching every donation in March until they run out
of money. Now is the time.
I have started with some items we need for the band room that are hard to get
other places. If people don't want to give now, they can check back later. I
hope for this to become a successful way to get electronics, percussion
equipment and other smaller ticket items that can eat away at a budget but are
Students are responsible for providing accessories for their instruments such as reeds, swabs, valve oil, etc. You may purchase these items at any reputable music dealership. Currently, a representative from Music and ArtsCenters, Phil Carr, makes a weekly visit to the school. If you wish to take advantage of this great service, please follow the directions below.
Directions for ordering musical items to be delivered to the school:
1. Email Mr. Carr at pcarr@musicarts.com before Thursday. Include YOUR NAME, YOUR SCHOOL, and the items you wish to order. As a large music dealership, Music and Arts will carry any accessory you need but if you are unsure, go to their website at www.musicandarts.com
2. Mr. Carr should email you back with the price of the items you ordered.
3. Bring the money in on Friday when he delievers your item(s).
